OTAC Clinical Case Webinars - OAT Takeaway Conundrums
Welcome to the OTAC Clinical Case Webinars. To register for the upcoming session, complete the registration form below.

The Opioid Treatment Accreditation Course, or OTAC, is a training course to provide prescribers in NSW with the knowledge, skills, and practices to support the safe prescribing opioid agonist treatment (OAT). These webinars aim to provide a continuing learning environment to discuss clinical matters related to prescribing methadone or buprenorphine pharmacotherapies for opioid dependence.

The webinars will involve case-based discussions, with seminar learning resources provided at the end of the session. Whilst primarily aimed towards prescribers of OAT, we welcome other health professionals, including those in nursing and pharmacy, to join us in the conversation.

The first webinar will be discussing the clinical conundrums to consider around providing takeaways to a patient on OAT. What are the risks and benefits of providing takeaways? What should you do if you need to consider going outside the guidance for takeaways? We also want to hear from you, and what your experiences have been in providing takeaways to patients, or what challenges that you have faced in your practice.

The webinars will be recorded and be made available on the OTAC website ( alongside relevant resources related to the topic.

The OTAC and the Clinical Case Webinars are managed by the University of Sydney Specialty of Addiction Medicine with funding from the NSW Ministry of Health.
